FAQ’s
This is where I can assure you that any problem or concern that you can think of, already has a solution. So just relax. It’ll all get sorted at the right time. In the meantime, here are a few answers that might help with some of your questions:
Are there forms to be completed if we want to get married?
Yes – a Notification of Intended Marriage form must be completed at least one month before the ceremony date.
But my partner is overseas and won’t arrive until a few days before the ceremony. What can we do?
No problem – I can have a chat with your partner on zoom or facetime and they can sign the form and show me the originals of their ID when they arrive. We can make all the arrangements, even if you’re BOTH overseas, without any problems at all.
ID? – what do I need?
Various forms of ID can cover off this requirement, but they must be originals: birth certificates, passports, driver’s licenses. You’ll need to have divorce papers or death certificates available too, if there have been previous marriages for either of you. If the document is from overseas, you will need to get a NAATI Certified Interpretation. Don’t worry – I can point you in the right direction for that too.
Can we get married in a public place?
Yes – but you have to check with the local authorities about permits. You might need to get one or make a booking.
What if it rains on our outdoor ceremony?
Whether indoors or outdoors you should always have a Plan B up your sleeve. You just never know what the universe might serve up.
Do we have to have anyone else present?
Yes – you have to have at least two witnesses, and they must be over the age of 18.
Do you have a PA?
Yes. I don’t use it if it’s a small guest list but I can bring it along for your music anyway - either live or recorded.
What are the steps we need to go through after we make contact with you?
We’ll set up a date to meet, get the forms lodged – if it’s for a wedding, and move on to planning the ceremony and drafting the script. Your script will be personalised – EVERY TIME, and I’ll help you write your own vows if you’re stuck.
What do we do next?
Give me a call for a complimentary chat and let's start working together to create your perfect day.
